On Day 3 of the inauguration and training of Atlantic Humpback Dolphin Guardians at the Biodiversity Preservation Center in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, trainees embarked on a practical session.

They were equipped with essential tools and field survey materials /equipment such as life jackets, handheld sonar depth sounder, refractometer, handheld Garmin GPS device, Secchi disks, vernier calliper, water resistant notebook and pen, and many more. Through hands-on training, participants learned how to utilize these professional instruments to collect habitat quality assessment data as well as to carry out morphometrics and necropsy directly in the field in the event of stranding or direct hunting or capture.
