On Day 4 of the Atlantic Humpback Dolphin Guardians’ inauguration and training, a pivotal meeting was held with the representatives of the Chairman of Andoni Local Government Area, Chief (Barr) Erastus Charles Awortu.
During the meeting, BPC presented our team members and briefed the council about our conservation efforts for the Atlantic Humpback Dolphin (AHD) and sought support from the local government towards the protection of the AHD in Obolo land.
Following the meeting, we conducted a field trip to Ikuru Town Beach, where trainees were acquainted with the ocean environment, preparing them for the next day’s hands-on field practical activities.
This experience will equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to contribute effectively to the conservation of the Atlantic Humpback Dolphin population in the region with enhanced capacity.
