Profile of MR Unyime Ukpong Akpan
Mr Unyime Ukpong Akpan born in 1981, hails from Iton Ododo in Ikono Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State. He attended Government school Iton Ododo from 1988 to 1994 for his primary education and had his secondary education at Trinity Academy, Iton Odoro from 1994 to 1997 and Mid-Town Secondary Commercial School Ikot Ekpene 1997 to 2000. Mr. Akpan had his first degree in Forestry and Wildlife from University of Uyo in 2012 and his Masters Degree programme from University of Aberdeen, Scotland, United Kingdom.
He is a teacher with strong passion for conservation of natural resource for posterity. He specializes in Environmental and Forest Management and has published some articles in reputable journals both national and international.
He started as a casual staff in the Siviculture unit and was later employed in 2014 as a Graduate Assistant in the Department of Forestry and Natural Environmental Management, University of Uyo. He has served in the University for six years in different capacity like member of Examination monitoring team, member Wood and Wood Product Sales Committee.
He is a member of Forestry Association of Nigerian and also a pioneer member of Centre for health and Environmental sustainability (CHES).
Mr. Akpan has attended several trainings and seminars within and outside Nigeria and has assisted in many researches.
His extra-curricular activities include reading about Conservation, Conservation Education and football.
